
dr hab. Paweł Kuśmierczyk, Professor of the WUEB
Personal finance and banking
Paweł Kuśmierczyk holds a habilitation degree (dr hab.) and is a Professor at Wrocław University of Economics and Business (WUEB), where he heads the Department of Mathematical Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Finance. He specialises in experimental economics. His research focuses on the efficiency of market design and market functioning, with particular emphasis on auctions and tenders, and on the role of behavioural factors in socio-economic decision-making.
Trained as both an economist and a mathematician, he also works on retirement planning, financial literacy, quantitative methods in economics and decision-making under risk. He is the author of the monograph “Aukcje i przetargi” (Auctions and Tenders, Wrocław University of Economics Press, 2010) and of numerous academic publications.
He has taken part in national and international research projects, including projects funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) and a Visegrad grant. From 2019 to 2024 he was a member of the WUEB Doctoral School Council, and from 2013 to 2020 a member of the Supervisory Board of Logintrade S.A. He has extensive teaching experience in Polish and English, including MBA and Doctoral School courses.

Selected projects and commissioned work
- Logintrade (2008–2020): advisory work on the design of auction mechanisms for a company operating an e-tendering platform. The cooperation concerned specific auction mechanisms and solutions, many of which were successfully implemented.
