The Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), the Wroclaw University of Economics (WUEB), the Cracow University of Economics (UEK), the Poznan University of Economics (UEP) and the Katowice University of Economics (UEKat) have entered into a partnership and are organizing a competition to fund research under inter-university grants for their research and research and teaching staff and PhD students at the Doctoral School.

Purpose of the project: enrichment of knowledge in one or more scientific disciplines; scientific development of academic teachers employed at partner universities and participants in Doctoral Schools conducted at SGH-UEW-UEK-UEP-UEKat universities.
The result of the research carried out by the team is to be at least 1 publication in a reputable scientific journal indexed in Web of Science or Scopus, to which, according to the list compiled and announced by the minister responsible for higher education and science pursuant to Art. 267 para. 3 of the Law on Higher Education and Science, assigned a number of points of at least 100, or the publication of a monograph in a recognized publishing house, i.e., published in a publishing house specified in the list of publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs of the Ministry of Education and Science, assigned a value of at least 200 points.
Inter-university research team: should consist of at least 5, but no more than 10 academic teachers employed at SGH, UEW, UEK, UEP, UEKat for whom these universities are the primary place of employment and who have submitted a statement authorizing the above-mentioned. university to count their scientific achievements for the purposes of scientific activities. One team must include academics from at least three universities. It is recommended to include the participants of the Doctoral Schools of partner universities in the team. One team may include up to five participants in the Doctoral School, with no more than two from a single partner university. The total number of team members including Doctoral School participants is max. 12 people.
The disbursement of funds under the awarded grant – to the extent that it is co-financed by the respective university – is carried out in accordance with the rules of each partner university, respectively.
In a given edition of the competition, a maximum of 5 grants will be awarded for the implementation of scientific research, each in the amount of up to PLN 30 thousand. The research will be funded equally by the universities, regardless of the number of members from each university on the team.
Recruitment for the SGH-UEW-UEK-UEP-UEKat Inter-University Research Grants consists of two stages:
1. RECRUITMENT STAGE
At the recruitment stage, each UEW academic and each Doctoral School participant wishing to enter the competition submits a correctly completed biography, which will then be published on the website.
Delivery of the bio can be done:
a. By email: [email protected]
b. In person: to the Research Service Center, building W, room. 111C.
Based on the published biographies of other academics and doctoral students, with particular regard to common scientific interests, partners are selected to collaborate on a scientific study, forming a team, which then selects a scientific study leader from among its members.
We would like to remind you about the rules regarding the composition of the team:
– It should consist of at least 5, but no more than 10 academic teachers employed at SGH, UEW, UEK, UEP, UEKat for whom these universities are the primary place of employment.
– One team must include academic teachers from at least 3 universities.
– It is recommended to include participants of Doctoral Schools in the team. One team may include a maximum of 5 participants of the Doctoral School, with a maximum of 2 doctoral students from a partner university allowed to participate. The total number of team members including Doctoral School participants is max. 12 people.
2. APPLICATION STAGE
The application stage requires the team to submit in writing or electronically application for a grant for the realization of the scientific research in the given edition of the competition:
a. in case the head of the scientific research is an academic teacher of UEW – in the Research Service Center of UEW or at [email protected]
b. in case the head of the scientific research is an academic teacher from another university than UEW – in the appropriate unit at the given university: SGH Science Department([email protected]), UEP Research Department([email protected]), UEK Research Project Support Department([email protected]) or UEKat Scientific Excellence Office([email protected]).
Evaluation of grant applications is carried out in two stages:
1. FORMAL ASSESSMENT is carried out by the units where the applications were submitted.
Formal evaluation of the application is carried out within 14 days from the date of completion of the application stage. If formal deficiencies are found, the university where the application was submitted calls on the head of the study to supplement the application within 14 days. If it is not completed within the specified period, the application shall be left without consideration.
(2) MERITORIAL EV ALUATION of applications is carried out by the Inter-University Scientific Committee.
Only applications positively evaluated formally are accepted for substantive evaluation.
The merit evaluation consists of a preliminary scoring and a final evaluation.
In the preliminary evaluation, points awarded in the following categories:
a. achievements of the team (on a scale of 0 to 20 points),
b. interdisciplinarity of the scientific study (on a scale of 0 to 20 points),
c. description of the planned scientific study (on a scale of 0 to 50 points),
d. research methods to be applied (on a scale of 0 to 30 points),
e. cognitive and application values (on a scale of 0 d 20 points),
f. Participation of Doctoral School participants in the team (on a scale from 0 to 10 points), with 2 points awarded for each doctoral student.
The final assessment is made by the Inter-University Scientific Committee on the basis of an analysis of the proposals and a discussion of the appropriateness of funding a particular scientific study.
The Inter-University Academic Committee makes decisions by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of its members, and each University must be represented by at least one representative of the partner university. Voting shall be conducted by means of direct remote communication, except that in the event of a tie, the deciding vote shall rest with its chairman.
The decision of the Inter-University Scientific Committee is not subject to appeal.
