dr hab. Agnieszka Sokołowska-Durkalec, Professor at WUEB
Socio-Economic Policy
Dr hab. Agnieszka Sokołowska-Durkalec, Professor at WUEB, specialises in the management of intangible resources in enterprises: corporate social responsibility and irresponsibility, intellectual capital and people management. Her research examines how organisations, small firms in particular, identify and assess their CSR activities, and how ethics, organisational culture and leadership shape the way people are managed. A distinct strand of her work concerns corporate social irresponsibility: how to recognise and assess it before it affects a company’s relations with employees, customers and the wider environment.
For organisations she translates this knowledge into practical tools: a CSR diagnosis with directions for improvement, competency models, incentive and appraisal systems, coaching and mentoring, and the measurement and development of intellectual capital. She is a certified academic tutor and business trainer. Her expertise rests on more than 130 publications, including three award-winning books, and more than a dozen research projects; her latest monograph, “Dylematy konceptualizacji społecznej nieodpowiedzialności przedsiębiorstwa” (Dilemmas in Conceptualising Corporate Social Irresponsibility, 2025), addresses the dark side of corporate activity.
At the Wrocław University of Economics and Business she serves as Dean for Education and heads the Department of Enterprise Sciences at the Faculty of Management; she sits on the WUEB Senate and the Scientific Council of the Discipline of Management and Quality Studies.
