Two further articles explain how inflation affects the maximum local tax rates for 2027 and when an adult child’s summer earnings may cause a parent to lose tax relief. Dr inż. Adam Sulich to study green jobs in Poland and the Czech Republic

A six-month research stay at the Prague University of Economics and Business will enable a comparison of how the energy transition affects companies, workforce skills and employment in Poland and the Czech Republic. The visit, scheduled from late October 2026 to late April 2027, has received support from the Zawacka NAWA programme.
Model energy cooperatives are being developed in Lower Silesia

Twelve Lower Silesian local authorities are beginning work on energy cooperative concepts, technical and economic analyses, and documentation for future investments. WUEB is among the programme partners working on solutions that may also be applied beyond the pilot stage.
The cycling city of the future and research on Wrocław’s microhub

An article on sustainable mobility presents Wrocław’s microhub, where goods are transferred from delivery vans to cargo bikes. According to the city’s announcement, WUEB and Wrocław University of Science and Technology will survey businesses about deliveries and logistics facilities to support decisions on the project’s further development.

WUEB welcomes more international researchers
International research cooperation at WUEB
Under the PROM programme, WUEB is hosting researchers and doctoral students from Kosovo, North Macedonia, Peru, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Spain and Türkiye. Their placements, supervised individually by WUEB researchers, cover areas including food technology, sustainability, microbiology, organisational behaviour and leadership, and are intended to support joint publications and long-term cooperation between institutions.
Customs duties on parcels from China are changing European e-commerce

In an interview with Radio Wrocław, the WUEB expert explained the significance of the new rules for low-value parcels from outside the European Union. The change is intended to reduce the price advantage enjoyed by Asian platforms, but may also affect prices, logistics and consumer decisions.
