Professorial nomination for dr hab. Marzena Stor

On 3 February 2025, the President of the Republic of Poland conferred the title of Professor of Social Sciences in the discipline of Management and Quality Studies on Professor Marzena Stor. She has been part of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business (WUEB) academic community since 2002, advancing from assistant to full professor.

Academic career and research interests

Professor Stor began her academic career at the Department of Human Resources Management, which she has headed since 2010. Her research focuses on how human resources management influences the performance of multinational enterprises—particularly in areas such as finance, innovation, and quality.

A key achievement in this field is her monograph Human Resources Management in Multinational Companies: A Central European Perspective, published in New York and London by Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group). She has also published extensively in high-impact journals issued by Elsevier, Springer Nature, Wiley, Taylor & Francis, SAGE Publications, and Oxford University Press.

Leadership and institutional engagement

Between 2011 and 2016, Professor Stor served as the Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Performance Appraisal of Academic Teaching Staff, co-developing the university’s evaluation system both conceptually and technologically. From 2016 to 2020, she was Director of the Executive MBA program.

Since 2021, she has been a member of the annually appointed Committee for Mid-Term Performance Appraisal of Doctoral Students at the UEW Doctoral School. Since 2012, she has also served as an expert and reviewer for the National Science Center. (NCN), evaluating research project proposals.

International collaboration and projects

Professor Stor has led and participated in numerous research and R&D projects, including those funded by the European Union (European Social Fund), the National Science Centre, the Hungarian National Science Fund, the Slovak Research and Development Agency, the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Lower Silesian Chamber of Commerce. She has collaborated with scholars from several European Union countries, the United Kingdom, and the United States, co-authoring publications and joint studies.
