The Wroclaw University of Economics and the Warsaw School of Economics are organizing a competition for research funding under inter-university grants for their research and research and teaching staff.

Recruitment is underway for VI. EDITION OF THE SGH-UEW COMPETITION
We encourage the participation of academic teachers of UEW and SGH
Purpose of the project: to enrich knowledge in one or more disciplines and the scientific development of academics by forming teams and building a foundation for further scientific cooperation, e.g. in the implementation of preliminary or other research in preparation for applications in competitions for grants funded from external sources. The implementation of the project is expected to be the development of a framework for long-term cooperation.
The result of the research carried out by the team should be at least 1 publication in a reputable scientific journal, which, according to the list compiled and announced by the minister responsible for higher education and science pursuant to Art. 267 para. 3 of the Law on Higher Education and Science, assigned a score of at least 70 points, or the publication of a monograph in a publishing house on the list of publishing houses publishing peer-reviewed scientific monographs of the Ministry of Education and Science, assigned a value of at least 100 points.
The expected outcome of the scientific study completed by the team, independent of the duration of the project, is the submission of an application to an external research institution for funding of a research project based on the results of the study.
The inter-university research team should consist of 4 – 10 academics employed at UEW and SGH, with a ratio of no less than 40% of employees from one university.
In a given edition of the competition, a maximum of 3 grants will be awarded for the implementation of scientific research, each in the amount of up to PLN 24 thousand.
Recruitment for the SGH-UEW Inter-University Grants consists of two stages:
1. RECRUITMENT STAGE
At the recruitment stage, each UEW academic staff member wishing to enter the competition submits a correctly completed biography, which will then be published on the website.
Delivery of the bio can be done:
a. By email: [email protected]
b. In person: to the Research Service Center, building W, room. 111C.
Based on the published biographies of other academics, with particular regard to common scientific interests, partners are selected to collaborate on the scientific study, forming a team, which then selects the head of the scientific study from among its members.
We would like to remind you about the rules on the composition of the team:
– It should consist of at least 4, but no more than 10 academicians employed at SGH or UEW, for whom these universities are the primary place of employment.
– In the team, the share of employees from one university may not constitute less than 40%.
2. APPLICATION STAGE
The application stage requires the team to submit in writing or electronically application for a grant for the realization of a scientific research in a given edition of the competition:
a. if the head of the scientific research is an academic teacher of UEW – at the UEW Research Service Center or at [email protected]
b. in case the head of the research is an academic teacher of SGH – in the Science Department of SGH or at [email protected].
Evaluation of grant applications is carried out in two stages:
1. FORMAL ASSESSMENT is carried out by the units where the applications were submitted.
Formal evaluation of the application is carried out within 14 days from the date of completion of the application stage. If formal deficiencies are found, the university where the application was submitted calls on the head of the study to supplement the application within 14 days. If it is not completed within the specified period, the application is rejected.
(2) MERITORIAL EV ALUATION of applications is carried out by the Inter-University Scientific Committee.
Only applications positively evaluated formally are accepted for substantive evaluation.
The merit evaluation consists of a preliminary scoring and a final evaluation.
In the preliminary evaluation, points awarded in the following categories:
a. achievements of the team (on a scale of 0 to 2 points),
b. interdisciplinarity of the scientific study (on a scale of 0 to 2 points),
c. description of the planned scientific study (on a scale of 0 to 5 points),
d. research methods to be used (on a scale of 0 to 3 pts),
e. cognitive and application values (on a scale of 0 to 2 pts),
f. planned ways to disseminate the results of the scientific study (on a scale of 0 to 3 pts),
g. assumed expenses (on a scale of 0 to 2 points).
The final assessment is made by the Inter-University Scientific Committee on the basis of an analysis of the proposals and a discussion of the appropriateness of funding a particular scientific study.
The Inter-University Scientific Committee makes decisions by an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of its members. Voting shall be conducted by means of direct remote communication, except that in the event of a tie, the deciding vote shall rest with its chairman.
The decision of the Inter-University Scientific Committee is not subject to appeal.
The results of the competition in the form of a list of applications that will receive funding will be published on the website:
– SGH website – www.administracja.sgh.waw.pl/pl/dna
– UEW website – www.cobn.ue.wroc.pl / https://badania.uew.pl/wspolpraca-badawcza/projekty-uew-sgh/
