It uses the <strong>c-score<\/strong> (with and without self-citations), which combines, among others, the h-index, the hm-index, and citation counts weighted by authorship contribution (first\/last\/sole author). The separate <em>career-long<\/em> and <em>single-year<\/em> lists distinguish sustained impact from current citation dynamics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the current edition, <strong>Professor Stanis\u0142aw Heilpern<\/strong>\u2014a leading expert in statistics and decision theory and a long-standing member of WUEB\u2019s Department of Statistics\u2014has once again been recognized among the world\u2019s most cited researchers for his career-long impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the <em>single-year 2024<\/em> list, four further WUEB scholars were distinguished:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Professor Katarzyna Piwowar-Sulej<\/strong> \u2014 specialist in sustainability-oriented human resource management and leadership (Department of Labour, Capital and Innovation, WUEB).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Associate Professor <\/strong><strong>Agnieszka Orkusz <\/strong>\u2014 researcher in food technology and nutrition (Department of Biotechnology and Food Analysis, UEW).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Associate Professor <\/strong><strong>Arkadiusz Piwowar,&nbsp; <\/strong>\u2014 recognised expert in agribusiness and sustainable economics (Department of Economics and Organisation of Food Economy, WUEB).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adam Sulich, PhD.<\/strong>&nbsp; \u2014 specialist in sustainable development and the green economy (Department of Advanced Research in Management, WUEB).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s ranking covers nearly 240,000 authors across 22 disciplines and 174 subfields, with more than one thousand researchers affiliated with Polish institutions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is worth noting that all of the above WUEB scholars have already appeared in previous editions of the <em>World\u2019s Top 2% Scientists<\/em> list.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>UEW scholars among leading researchers in Poland<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within the cohort of academics at Polish institutions, WUEB researchers achieved very strong positions:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Professor Stanis\u0142aw Heilpern<\/strong> is ranked within the national top 100 (c-score: 2.93), with an extensive body of highly regarded publications in statistics and risk analysis.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professor Katarzyna Piwowar-Sulej<\/strong> ranks among the leading Polish scholars and is the only researcher affiliated with a Polish economics-profile university recognised in the field of human resource management and organizational sustainable development (c-score: 3.18).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Associate Professor <\/strong><strong>Agnieszka Orkusz, <\/strong>holds one of the highest c-scores in her subfield (2.54) and is among the top Polish scientists in food technology.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Associate Professor <\/strong><strong>Arkadiusz Piwowar <\/strong>has ranked in the listing for the fourth consecutive time; in agribusiness and environmental economics he belongs to the very top tier (c-score: 2.64).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assistant Professor Adam Sulich&nbsp;<\/strong> achieved a c-score of 2.82\u2014the second-highest in his category\u2014securing an excellent position in research on sustainable development and \u201cgreen jobs.\u201d&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Measured by total citations in 2024, WUEB scientists also rank among the top Polish authors within their disciplines, confirming the University\u2019s growing international visibility and impact.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Methodology<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <em>World\u2019s Top 2% Scientists<\/em> list is prepared annually by a team at Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier and SciTech Strategies. The ranking draws on a range of bibliometric indicators, including total citations, the h-index, the author\u2019s position in multi-authored papers, and citation-to-publication ratios.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The latest edition is based on Scopus data (as of 1 August 2025, updated through the end of 2024). Researchers are included if they are among the 100,000 highest-scoring globally by the composite <strong>c-score<\/strong>, or if they rank within the top 2% most cited in their
